The Archives holds primary source, or original materials such a correspondence, business files, maps, and photographs from local people and businesses. Please contact the archivist for an appointment to review materials. Self-copying is allowed with the use of a digital camera.

Archivo Digital de documentos sobre la guerra de Texas, 1835 y la guerra Mexico-Estados Unidos, 1846-1848 Archival documents in Spanish concerning Mexico's war with Texas in 1835 and the war between Mexico and the United States from 1846-1848. Digitized through a collaborative effort between Mexico's Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriories and the University of Texas-Pan American, funded by the Summerlee Foundation.
The Shary Collection contains the papers from John H. Shary (1872-1945), the founder of Sharyland and "Father of the Texas Citrus Industry." He was a prominant land developer, and president of the United Irrigation Company in the Mission / Sharyland area.

- Historical Map and Google Map of lands owned by Shary, including Mission and Sharyland, north of the Rio Grande to 10 Mile, and between the current Bentsen Road west to Inspiration Road.

Finding Aids to other Collections:
- Carl Seale was a Professor of Music at the University of Texas-Pan American in Edinburg from January 1972 until his retirement in May 2001. He was awarded Professor Emeritus by the University of Texas-Pan American. He was also Music Director/Conductor of the Valley Symphony Orchestra and Chorale and elected Conductor Emeritus by the Valley Symphony Orchestra of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He composed the 1996 winning composition of the Texas Orchestra Directors Association Composition Contest, "The Flight of Icarus"
- Paul Henggeler (1955-2004) was a professor of History at the University of Texas-Pan American. He authored two books focusing on the Kennedy era. His collection primarily contains the research and interviews that he completed for the book The Kennedy Persuasion: The Politics of Style Since JFK. Some papers are also included for his third book he was working on, After the Harvest: The Rise and Fall of Cesar Chavez.
- Vela Family. The current archival holdings for the Vela family consist of materials from the first Schunior Family Reunion held in McAllen, Texas June 30 - July 2, 2006. The Schunior family is one of the branches of the Vela Family. The collection consists of promotional materials made expressly for the reunion, as well as visitor information about area attractions.
