Vela Family

Are you proud of your heritage?

The University of Texas-Pan American Library Archives would like to help showcase the rich legacy of the Vela Family. Bring your photographs, letters, drawings, and maps that provide documentation related to the history, development, traditions, and activities of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, and we will scan them.  These digital copies may be retained in the UTPA Archives or displayed through the Archive's website, and will be available to future Velas, students, and researchers.  The UTPA Library Archives also accepts donations of the physical papers and documents.

Call the UTPA Archives (956) 381-2990 for more information.  The Archives may refuse to scan items based on content or physical condition.

For more information on how to properly care for you documents, visit the Library of Congress Family Treasures website
