UTPA WEB SEARCH

There are many different ways to search for information on the World Wide Web (WWW). It's important to understand, however, that the WWW is not a single database. It is a combination of many databases, electronic discussions, journals, magazines, texts, personal and commercial web pages and more. Searching the Web is more complicated than searching an index at the Library.

However, the WWW does provide some unique and fascinating information and can be very useful for research. The resources you will find come from all over the world. Due to the vast number of resources and the lack of a central organizing or controlling entity, there is not one way to search the WWW which will guarantee your results. Instead there are numerous ways to search the WWW which will all yield different results. It will take time to become familiar with the various ways of searching the WWW and it will take time to evaluate the information you find.
